Peter Lindeman

Born in Berlin and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay, Lindeman began his career apprenticing with a distinguished European jeweller. In 1947, at just seventeen, he journeyed to New York, where he honed his craft among the city’s most prestigious ateliers. By 1955, he was designing under his own name, marking each creation with his elegant signature — a teardrop enclosing the letter “L.”

Lindeman’s distinctive aesthetic and meticulous craftsmanship soon drew the attention of collectors and icons alike. His jewels found their way into the personal collections of Elvis Presley and tennis legend Chris Evert, and today, his work is enshrined in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
