Boucheron

Founded in 1858 by Frédéric Boucheron, the House of Boucheron stands as one of France’s most storied jewellery dynasties. The Maison’s first boutique opened beneath the arcades of the Galerie de Valois at the Palais-Royal — then the heart of Parisian elegance during the Second French Empire. Frédéric’s talent soon earned acclaim; in 1866 he established his own atelier, and the following year received the Gold Medal at the Exposition Universelle in Paris.

In 1893, Boucheron became the first jeweller to open on Place Vendôme, choosing No. 26 for its abundance of sunlight — legend has it that he believed his diamonds would shine all the more brilliantly in its golden light. That address remains the beating heart of Boucheron to this day, a symbol of audacious craftsmanship and Parisian refinement.

Following Frédéric’s passing in 1902, the Maison remained in the hands of his descendants, preserving its spirit of innovation and artistry through generations. In 2000, Boucheron joined the Gucci Group — now part of the Kering luxury portfolio — ushering in a new era of global influence while remaining faithful to its founding ideals of excellence, creativity, and light.
